Some Lanes To Reopen Soon On Route 59 In Plainfield

Upcoming construction for the 143rd Street East Extension project will allow for lanes to reopen soon, Plainfield staff said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A contractor will work overnight starting Friday evening to construct a left turn lane on Route 59.

Crews will be on-site from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday to construct the new turn lane pavement within the median area, the Plainfield Public Works Department said. Construction is part of the 143rd Street East Extension project.

The work will allow for the reopening of two northbound lanes and a left turn lane to westbound 143rd Street, officials said.
