St. Patrick's Day Campaign Results Released By Plainfield Police

The Plainfield Police Department targeted drunk driving and improper seat belt usage for more than a week surrounding St. Paddy's.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department released the results of its St. Patrick's Day enforcement campaign targeting drunk driving and seat belt usage.

Between March 7-18, deputies issued a total of 45 tickets. Here's the breakdown of citations written:

  • 37 seat belts
  • 1 violation of child restraint
  • 5 speeding
  • 1 no insurance
  • 2 no registration

Police also wrote five warnings during the effort. No arrests were made, Sergeant Dino Dabezic told Patch.

The Plainfield Police Department conducted the initiative in collaboration with state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois. The effort was paid for by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
