South suburban golfers are invited to support of local children with critical illnesses at the 28th annual Golfing for Wishes outing on Friday, August 1 at The Links of Carillon in Plainfield. Golfing foursomes are sold out, but dinner packages are still available for $100. The event also includes an incredible silent auction of local experience packages, sports memorabilia and more. Anyone can bid in the silent auction - attendance at the event is not required.
Originated by a group of construction firms working with far southwest suburban petrochemical companies, the outing has helped to grant hundreds of life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses through its longstanding support of Make-A-Wish Illinois. Each year, a wish family attends to share the impact of their child’s wish with golfers and wish alumni participate in course games.
“Golfing for Wishes is a wonderful way to spend time with friends, make new ones and help a great cause,” said Ashley White, gift officer for community programs at Make-A-Wish Illinois. “The incredibly dedicated group of volunteers who organize this event continue to be inspired by the power of wishes and we are so grateful they continue to make wishes come true through this annual event.”
