Thanksgiving Enforcement Campaign Yields 31 Citations: Plainfield Police

From Nov. 21 to Dec. 2, officers heightened enforcement of seat belts, speeding and distracted driving.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department enforcement campaign for Thanksgiving yielded 31 citations and two arrests, officials said Thursday.

During the campaign from Nov. 21 to Dec. 2, officers heightened enforcement of seat belts, speeding and distracted driving.

The effort resulted in 30 occupant restraint citations, one speeding citation and two arrests, one for a traffic-related offense and one for expired registration.

The enforcement was funded by a grant administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
