'They Are Academic Stars': Plainfield Twins Excel In Academics, Sports

PLAINFIELD, IL — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Deborah Acosta who nominated her twin sons, Armani and Aiden, of Plainfield.

My twin boys

Why do you believe the star local students should be recognized?

My twin boys are freshmen at Plainfield Central High School and have been straight-A students since middle school, always on high honors and honor roll. Armani is in 3 honors classes and both boys also play baseball for the high school and for Hawks Travel 15u Team. They have been playing baseball since they were 4 years old and have always managed to be on the same team together. They have high expectations for the future including going to specific colleges. They have been talking about colleges since 7th grade. We have always received nothing but compliments on how mature and respectful they are from coaches and umpires that come into contact with them. They love going to church and helping at home whenever needed. We are so proud of the young men they are becoming.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local students?

They are academic stars and athletes at the same time.
