Trick-Or-Treating In Plainfield: 2024 Hours Unveiled

The Plainfield Shorewood Area of Commerce will host its annual Spooktacular event a few days before Halloween too.

PLAINFIELD, IL — October is here, and that means Halloween is just a few weeks out. Halloween falls on a Thursday this year, and the Village of Plainfield set its trick-or-treating hours for 4-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

To get a taste of Halloween before the official holiday — and give kids an additional shot at collecting candy — the Plainfield Shorewood Area of Commerce will host Spooktacular Oct. 26. For the event, children will have the chance to trick-or-treat from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. downtown Plainfield.

Police and village officials provided a list of tips and guidelines to help families as they begin planning for festivities:

  • If you choose to hand out candy, please turn on your outside lights.
  • If you do not wish to participate, please make sure your outside lights are turned off. The Village also created a flyer, available online at www.plainfieldil.gov, that you can print and post in your window or door so that others know you are not participating.
  • Make sure that trick-or-treaters have a clear field of vision and wear light colors or put reflective tape on their costumes.
  • Be careful when crossing streets and check both directions for cars.
  • Do not enter any homes.
  • Check all treats in a well-lit area after returning home and only eat unopened candy that is in the original packaging.
  • Respect others and their property.
