'All Clear' Given After Bomb Threat Reported At Romeoville HS

The District was told it was safe for students and staff to return to the school at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The "all clear" has been given at Romeoville High School after a bomb threat was reported on Tuesday at the school, Valley View School District officials said.

At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, the school was evacuated due to the reported bomb threat. Students and staff were "relocated to a secure outdoor area, and at no time was there a threat to their safety," the District said on its Facebook page.

"This incident mirrors the multiple incidents that have disrupted public schools and libraries throughout the Chicagoland area," the District added.

The threat was investigated by the Romeoville Police Department, with assistance from local agencies, and the school was thoroughly searched, according to the District. The District was told it was safe for students and staff to return to the school at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday.

"As always, our top priority in VVSD is the safety and security of everyone in our schools and school community," the District said.
