Burglars Snatch Sawzall, Wallet, 12-Packs Of Beer

The incidents were reported to police in late August and early September.

The following incidents were reported to the Romeoville Police Department:

Sunday, Aug. 27

Someone shattered the rear window of a vehicle that was parking in the street in the 300 block of Hemlock Avenue. Police did not indicate a time frame, but the damage was discovered around 2:40 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 1

A burglar, or burglars, entered an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the first block of Kempton Drive, where an estimated $570 in hand tools were reported stolen, police said.

Sunday, Sept. 3

A thief made off with two 12-packs of beer from a business in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive. One of the packs was recovered outside the store, police said. The theft was reported shortly before midnight.

Saturday, Sept. 7

A vandal cut a fence on the property of a business in the 700 block of Parkwood Avenue, police said. A criminal damage to property report was filed around 10:20 a.m.

Sunday, Sept. 8

A thief stole a wallet and sawzall from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the 100 block of Canterbury Trail. The vehicle owner contacted police upon discovering that the items were missing around 5:40 a.m.
