Car Theft, Burglary Hit Same Romeoville Street, Police Say

Also, a person recently stole a trailer from a property in Romeoville, police said.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Two crimes involving cars hit the same street in Romeoville on Thursday, according to police. One of the incidents included the stealing of a Jeep, Romeoville Police said.

Both incidents happened in the 5 a.m. hour of Thursday, police said in an incident report. At 5:16 a.m., a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from the driveway of a home in the 1200 block of Julia Drive, according to police.

Two other cars belonging to the same victim were rummaged through, but nothing was taken, police said.

The second incident came at 5:58 a.m. in the 400 block of Julia Drive, where a wallet was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the driveway of a home, police said. Police did not release a description of any suspects in the case.

There was another crime involving a vehicles in Romeoville recently. On Monday, someone took a parked trailer from a property in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive, police said. That crime appears to have taken place at a business and not a residence, as that block of Lakeview is not residential. The trailer is valued at $4,500, police said.
