Home town: Romeoville

Hero's job: Volunteer

Relationship to nominee: Through the American Legion Auxiliary. We stayed in touch after meeting.

Reason for recognition: As soon as the lockdown started, Fran got to her sewing machine and started making masks. She started a Facebook page and other women joined her. For the community, for the first responders and village personnel, making 1000s by now. Nothing in return.

One thing to know: She is so caring and humble. She is a proud veteran.

Thank you for all you do, Fran!
