False Fire Alarm At Chili's Has Patrons In Parking Lot
Chili's management declined to comment on the issue, but Romeoville PD said an employee triggered the alarm on accident.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — A fire alarm went off at the Chili's on Weber Road Tuesday morning, and witnesses said it sent employees and patrons into the parking lot. Luckily, the alarm was a false one. Though emergency vehicles did respond to the scene, it was reported that no one was injured and the Chili's property sustained no damage.
Patch first received word of the alarm shortly after 11:30 a.m. and reached out to the Lockport Township Fire Protection District — which covers the stretch of Weber Road Chili's is located at — for comment, and they said it was simply a matter of a smoke detector getting triggered.
"It was a fire alarm that was unfounded and we just reset it... it was just a smoke detector that went off," Fire Captain William Piper said.

Management at the Chili's said that everything was safe and that the restaurant was open for business.
"We're open for business, false alarm," the restaurant's manager, who went only by Jill, said. "There's nothing wrong here."
