Father, Son To Claim Self-Defense in Romeoville Murder Case
Mark Ballard, 44, and Adam Ballard, 17, were allegedly involved in a street brawl two years ago.

A father and son will claim self-defense when they are tried for the murder of Richard Pollack, who was killed with a baseball bat during a street brawl two years ago.
The Herald-News reports:
Defense attorney Paul Napolski on Wednesday notified Will County Judge Amy Bertani-Tomczak and prosecutors that Mark Ballard, 44, and Adam Ballard, 17, will present a “self-defense” defense when they are tried for the murder of Richard Pollack. Since the defense will attempt to prove their actions were justified, the law requires prosecutors have the opportunity to challenge any evidence that may show that.
