Lewis University Offers New Academic Programs This Year

New programs include a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Bachelor's in art therapy.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Lewis University will have several new academic programs for the 2024-2025 academic year, according to a release from the university.

For graduate programs, new programs include:

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy, the program is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in physical therapy, emphasizing clinical excellence and compassionate care.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing to Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs. In response to the growing demand for advanced practice nurses, the university said it added four new BSN to DNP programs.
  • Engineering Physics to M.S. Mechanical Engineering (4+1 Program). The new 4+1 program allows students to earn a Physics Major in Engineering Physics and transition seamlessly into a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. The program is designed to be completed in five years.

  • Art Therapy B.A. The new Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy program is ideal for those interested in using art to help others heal and grow.
  • Sport Management for Non-Business Majors (Minor). Lewis University split the Sport Management minor into two tracks: one for Business Majors and one for Non-Business Majors.
  • Political Science for Pre-Law Students (Minor). A new minor in Political Science for Pre-Law Students was added to better prepare students for law school and careers in the legal field, the university said.
