“With so many families recovering from the federal administration’s interruption of SNAP benefits, grocery prices continuing to rise, and small retailers closing their doors amidst illegal raids—there’s many of us unable to put a holiday meal on the table this Thanksgiving,” said Avelar. “But our community has come together stronger than ever to tackle food insecurity this season. I encourage our residents experiencing challenges to join us for our turkey and ham giveaway on Dec. 18 to make this time a little easier for families on strapped budgets.”
“We’re happy to partner with our state senators, representatives, and community organizations to assist those in need,” Noak said in a release. “It is a great reminder that the holidays are also about helping others.”
