Nerf Battle With Romeoville Police: Local Youth Invited To Sign Up

Kids ages 11-14 are invited to spend an afternoon brushing up on their NERF skills with Romeoville police.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Police Department is hosting a Nerf battle in March for area youth.

Kids ages 11-14 are invited to spend the day with police to brush up on their Nerf skills. The "To Nerf and Protect" event, sponsored by the village, the police department and Chicago Nerf Wars, will take place from noon to 4 p.m. March 23 at the Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road.

The police department will provide each participant with equipment, the battle-ground course, eye protection and supplies. Kids will complete safety training and engage in a variety of battle modes, according to a news release.

"To Nerf and Protect with RPD aims to facilitate a structured, safe, and friendly environment while encouraging competitive spirit by way of good communication, teamwork, and leadership skills," police said in a news release.

The event is limited to 50 people, so registration is required by March 13. Participants should check in between 11:30 a.m. and noon day-0f.
