New Storage Hangar Approved For Lewis University Airport

The 40,000-square-foot hangar will store larger, corporate aircraft with short-term rental agreements.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Village Board approved a new storage hangar at Lewis University Airport at its Wednesday meeting.

The Joliet Regional Port District, which owns the facility, will construct a new aircraft storage hangar at the airport in Romeoville.

Community Development Director Josh Potter said the 40,000-square-foot hangar will store larger, corporate aircraft with short-term rental agreements.

"[It will be] located within the existing hangar area, just north of George Michas Drive and east of the terminal building," Potter said.

Mayor John Noak said the hangar will provide additional capacity for the airport.

The building includes two bays, a new driveway and widened pavement curbs.
