Romeoville Quadruple Murder: Victim, Suspect Had Relationship: Cops

Police said the suspect's girlfriend also had prior knowledge of Huey's intent to commit the murders and drove him to the scene.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — More than two months after a family of four was slain in the 500 block of Concord, Romeoville Police have released an update into their investigation, revealing they believe the suspect in the killings planned the murders with his girlfriend.

Alberto Rolon, 38; Zoraida Bartolomei, 32, and their two sons Adriel and Diego, ages 10 and 7, were shot and killed in their Romeoville home in September. Three family dogs were also shot to death, police said.

A suspect, Nathaniel Huey Jr., 31, of Streamwood, was quickly identified, as well as a person of interest, Ermalinda Palomo. Days after the killings, Huey and Palomo were located in Catoosa, Oklahoma, after a digital license plate reader got an alert for the suspect vehicle.

Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped away, and a pursuit began. Oklahoma Police said the car continued on Interstate 44 in Catoosa, and the driver struck a concrete barrier and came to a stop.

Officers then heard two noises, believed to be gunshots, and found a woman with a gunshot wound, who was taken to a hospital in critical condition. A man in the driver's seat, now identified as Huey, was found dead with a gunshot wound. Palomo died a day later at the hospital.

Police have now revealed that Bartolomei and the suspect, Huey, had a relationship. This relationship was known both to Bartolomei's husband, Rolon, and Huey's girlfriend, Palomo, police said.

Police also said that Palomo had prior knowledge of Huey's intent to commit the murders, and she was involved in the planning and drove the vehicle to the crime scene.

An attorney for Palomo had previously told Patch that Palomo had nothing to do with the crime.

"Digital evidence shows the path of the vehicle used to commit the crime traveling from Huey and Palomo’s home in Streamwood to the 500 block of Concord in Romeoville and back to Streamwood at the time the murders took place," police said in an update on Thursday.

Huey exited and reentered the vehicle from the passenger side, and Palomo was the driver, according to police.

Police said there is no evidence of additional suspects in this incident. There is additional forensic evidence pending analysis, and further information will be released when the investigation is complete.
