Romeoville Testing Outdoor Sirens Wednesday

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville residents may hear tornado sirens on Wednesday throughout the day as the Village is testing the sirens, the Village shared in a notification to residents.

"Residents may hear short burst of sirens during this regular maintenance," the Village said.

The warning sirens are usually tested at 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, according to the Village website. The Village and the Romeoville Emergency Management Agency operate and maintain 19 warning sirens in the village area.

It also operates and maintains sirens in the unincorporated areas to the west and south of the community, according to the Village website.
