ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Romeoville Village Board discussed the concept plan for a new senior living community planned in Romeoville.
The project, Clover Development Senior Independent Housing, is located on a 6-acre lot, south of Scene 75 in the Romeo Crossing Shopping Center.
"Clover owns and manages over 50 market-rate communities, consisting of over 6,000 units in eight states," Romeoville's Director of Community Development Josh Potter said.

The plan for the Romeoville community is for a three-story, 122-unit market-rate, active adult (55 and over) community.
"The product is designed as an alternative for senior residents who no longer desire to own and do not want to move into an extensive, full-service retirement community," Potter said.

The project would have 85 two bedroom, one bath units; 24 two bedroom, 1.5 baths; 9 two bedroom, 1 bath extended units; and 4 one bedroom, one bath units.
Potter said the development includes an exercise facility, community room with library, and outdoor gathering spaces.
"Final development plan should occur this winter and spring, in anticipation of a summer/fall construction start," Potter said.
"I think overall the consensus was [at the plan commission] that it's a great project," Trustee Dave Richards said. "It's something we don't have."
"Putting residential near retail; we know that works," Richards added.
