Valley View Board Swears In New Board Members
The Board said thank you and farewell to departing board members Victor Zack and Debbie Sykora.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its April 28 meeting, the Valley View School District Board of Education said thank you and farewell to departing board members Victor Zack and Debbie Sykora.
Sykora and Zack had a combined 21 years as board members, the District said.
“Mrs. Sykora brought to the Board her invaluable experience as a retired middle school mathematics teacher, enriching her contributions with firsthand classroom insight and a passion for academic excellence," Board President Steve Quigley said.

Sykora was first sworn in as a board member in May 2013, and also served as VVSD Board Secretary.
Zack began his official Board duties when he was sworn in in December 2016, and also served as VVSD Board Vice President, according to the District.

"Mr. Zack prioritized expanding post-high school opportunities by supporting initiatives that prepare students for both college and career pathways, including access to work-based learning experiences and vocational training that reflect the evolving needs of today’s workforce," Quigley said.
Newly-elected board members Jennifer Shroba and Victoria Pipkin were sworn in during the April 28 Board meeting to assume the seats once held by Sykora and Zack. Incumbents Elizabeth Campbell and Scott Heil were also sworn in for their new terms.
