Valley View Track And Field Athletes Compete At State Competitions
The IHSA Boys Class 3A track and field championship is this weekend.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — Seven students will compete in individual events at the IHSA Boys Class 3A track and field championship May 29-31 at Eastern Illinois University, the district said in a release.
Romeoville High School has three qualifiers: seniors Francisco Figueroa and Marc Thomas in discus, and junior Shaun Alexander in the high jump and long jump.
Bolingbrook HS is represented by junior Jordan Lampkins, who will also compete in the
Long Jump. BHS has two students in the 400-meter dash: senior Bruce Duncan III and sophomore
Edmond Ankomah. BHS senior Oluwamuolade Olu-Akintomide will also compete in the triple jump. Finally, Bolingbrook HS also qualified relay teams in the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 relays.

In addition to this weekend's boys state competition, the Bolingbrook HS Girls 4x100-meter relay team earned All-State status by finishing ninth at their HSA Class 3A Girls Track and Field Championship.
At the elementary school level, three VVSD students earned team points at the IESA Boys and Girls Track and Field Championships, the District said. Humphrey MS seventh grader Kent Lucas placed fourth in the Boys Class 7-4A High Jump. A. Vito Martinez MS seventh grader Xavier Hall earned sixth place in the Boys Class 7-4A 200-Meter Dash; and Jane Addams MS seventh grader Aubrey Oliveira finished eighth in the Girls Class 7-4A 800-meter run.
