Virtual Graduation Ceremony For Lewis University Students In May

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Lewis University in Romeoville will celebrate its graduates with a virtual graduation ceremony in May, according to a news release.

University President David Livingston said ceremonies for 1,000 or more graduates cannot be held over the weekend of May 7-8, but each of the individual colleges is exploring the possibility of smaller, on-campus recognition events.

These smaller ceremonies could allow for a limited number of family members to attend and celebrate with graduates. In addition, the university’s Commencement Coordinating Committee is developing a series of "drive up" events, so graduates can pick up their honors cords, diploma covers, program books and other keepsake items. Livingston said they are also planning on-campus photo opportunities for graduates.

"And to you, our May graduates: You have accomplished so much in your time at Lewis! Despite the limitations, we will do our absolute best to celebrate you and all that you have meant to us over these years," Livingston said in the release.

More information about the commencement schedule and details for virtual ceremonies will soon be on the college website. Details will also be shared by the university’s registrar office via email and postal mail.
