VVSD Inks Contracts With Labor Attorneys, Consulting Firm

One of the agreements is for legal services from Baker Hostetler, which is a firm known for its labor and employment attorneys.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its Monday meeting, the Valley View Board of Education agreed to let its superintendent enter into an engagement agreement for legal services and another agreement for consulting services regarding data issues up to a $150,000 deductible.

One of the agreements is for legal services from Baker Hostetler. The Chicago firm is known for its labor and employment attorneys, according to the firm's website.

The Board also authorized an agreement for consulting services with Charles River Associates. According to the firm's LinkedIn, the business specializes in litigation, regulatory, financial and management consulting.

There was no discussion about either of the items, but the Board unanimously approved the action.

Patch has reached out to the District, asking if the agreements concern the District's recent termination of employees after "an alleged scheme involving Information Technology funds."

The District has said there is an ongoing criminal investigation against the individuals involved in the scheme.
