Barrio Burrito Bar's Route 59 Grand Opening In Shorewood: 'This Brand Is Growing So Fast In The U.S.'
Barrio Burrito Bar has opened its first location in Illinois on Tuesday, choosing the growing village of Shorewood as its first destination.

SHOREWOOD, IL — For the second week in a row, there is big news in Shorewood's restaurant scene. Last week, La Dolce Pizza and Pasta opened on Route 52 near the Will County Brewing Company, filling the Savarino's Pizza vacancy. On Tuesday, Shorewood marked another restaurant milestone: the first Barrio Burrito Bar coming to the state of Illinois chose Shorewood for its opening near the Mariano's Supermarket on Route 59 near Black Road.
The new restaurant is decorated with homey signs that read, "Welcome to Barrio Burrito Bar your neighborhood Tex Mex joint where community, good food and hospitality meet. Pull up a seat and enjoy every bite!"
For Tuesday's grand opening celebration, Barrio is offering its burritos and rice bowls at the special discounted price of $5.99 all day long.

Patel said there are 350 Barrio Burrito Bar restaurants across Canada, and the restaurant franchise is now in the midst of expanding across the U.S.
"This brand is growing so fast in the U.S., and this is the first in Illinois," he proclaimed. "We chose Shorewood because it's growing. We love the community, and people are going to be impressed."
Barrio Burrito Bar is now open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The building address is 960 Brook Forest Avenue. There is indoor dining, carryout and delivery available.
Burritos Available In 3 Different Sizes

Patel said that Barrio Burrito is widely known for its crunchy chicken, steak and the bang-bang shrimp. Customers can either build a burrito or a bowl. Barrio also offers tacos and quesadilla.
The burritos come in three different sizes, small, regular and large and the bowls are regular and large.
"Everything is made in-house," Patel stressed. "We have lots of options of proteins, sauces and salsas."
Barrio features a B Box of the Day: Sunday is jerk chicken, Monday is ground beef, Tuesday is crunchy chicken, Wednesday is carnitas, Thursday is spicy chicken, Friday is carnitas and Saturday is mild chicken.
"The B Box is a very famous value," Patel explained.
According to its website, "At Barrio Burrito Bar, we believe great Tex-Mex should be bold, fresh, and made just the way you like it. Whether you're craving a burrito, bowl, quesadilla, or tacos, we’ve got the flavors to satisfy."
