Barrio Burrito Bar On Route 59 In Shorewood: 'I Am Super Excited To Try This Place'

SHOREWOOD, IL — The village of Shorewood revealed on Thursday that Barrio Burrito Bar is indeed opening a restaurant in the Mariano's Supermarket shopping center along Route 59 and Black Road. Barrio will fill the vacancy created by the departure of Brandon Kelly, who moved his Undisputed Nutrition store over to Joliet, next door to his well-known fitness club and gym along Essington Road.

"A new flavor is coming to town. Here's a first look at a restaurant opening in Shorewood this month," the village of Shorewood posted on its Facebook page. "Any guesses?

One woman inquired on Facebook, "is it the Barrio Burrito Bar by Mariano's? If so, I am super excited to try this place!" In response, the village of Shorewood posted a response confirming, "yes, it is."

According to its website, Barrio Burrito Bar already has locations in the following states: Tennessee, Hawaii, Delaware, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio and Connecticut.

Shorewood appears to be Barrio's one and only location for a "coming soon" in Illinois.

The menu features burritos, tacos, quesadillas, bowls, sides and drinks.

"At Barrio Burrito Bar, we believe great Tex-Mex should be bold, fresh, and made just the way you like it. Whether you're craving a burrito, bowl, quesadilla, or tacos, we’ve got the flavors to satisfy," the rapidly growing U.S. restaurant chain's website proclaims.

The date for Shorewood's grand opening has not been revealed.

The address in Shorewood will 960 Brook Forest Avenue.
