The Will County Huamne Society issued a Facebook update late Monday morning. Ringo has been missing for an entire week now.

"He escaped from a potential adopter's yard Shorewood by the Shorewood Troy Library," the Will County Humane Society shared last week. "WCHS does know that he was hit by a car on Tuesday evening. He may be injured and hiding in back yards."

SHOREWOOD, IL — There are posters practically everywhere around Shorewood's major intersections and subdivisions advising people that Ringo the dog went missing last week during an adoption. Ringo escaped from the homeowner's yard near the Shorewood Public Library, and he was later seen crossing Black Road and Ca Crest. On Monday morning, the Will County Humane Society issued an update, and it contained some positive news about Ringo. He is alive.

"WCSHS is working with Eyes in the Sky Thermal Drone Pet Rescue and many local lost dog trackers and trappers," the Facebook announcement read. "We have seen Ringo and he is okay. For his safety and to allow the trappers space to work, we are not releasing his locations. We can't thank everyone enough for all the support. We hope to successfully bring him back soon."

Lastly, the Will County Humane Society reminded everyone, "if you see him, call us, please do not chase him. Thank you!"
