2 Skokie Park District Commissioners Win New 6-Year Terms

Mike Reid won a fourth term on the board, while Ezra Jaffee was elected for the first time since his appointment nearly two years ago.

SKOKIE, IL — Voters decided to retain a pair of park district commissioners Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Cook County Clerk.

Incumbents Mike Reid and Ezra Jaffe were both elected to new six-year terms on the Skokie Park District board.

It marks a fourth term for Reid, the board's current vice-president.

Jaffe won his first race since his June 2021 appointment to the seat vacated by Khem Khoeun following her election to the Skokie Village Board.

Challenger Marrissa Seidler, a special education teacher for Chicago Public Schools, trailed by nearly 800 votes out of about 8,000 cast, according to preliminary results from the clerk's office.

Should the results hold, Reid and Jaffe are schedule to be sworn in to new terms on the five-member board on May 15.


Skokie Park District Board of Commissioners 2023 Unofficial Election Results:

  • Ezra Jaffee — 3,211 — 40%
  • Mike Reid — 2,778 — 35%
  • Marrissa Seidler — 1,982 — 25%
