Burglar Enters Home Through Kitchen Window, Police Say

Also, motorcycle stolen, cars burglarized. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.



A homeowner on the 4600 block of Main Street reported an unknown offender came in through the kitchen window between May 27 and May 31, and two bedrooms were ransacked, according to police. At the time of the report, the homeowner had not determined what was missing.

Schwinn bike stolen in garage burglary

A white and purple girl’s Schwinn bicycle, valued at $100, was taken from a home’s detached garage in the 8000 block of Kenneth Ave. sometime between June 1 and 2.

Three cars on Karlov burglarized

A woman who lives in the 8500 block of Karlov saw two men in her Toyota Sienna minivan, yelled at them, and they got out and left the scene. A second victim on that block had a cartoon drawing removed from his BMW XS, which was parked on the street. A third victim, also on that block, reported someone had entered his unlocked Hyundai Santa Fe, but that nothing was taken. The three incidents occurred between 11:30 p.m. May 30 and 3:25 a.m. May 31.

Two iPods stolen

In a Burglary from Motor Vehicle case in the 8600 block of Harding, someone entered a 2008 Toyota Camry and removed 2 iPod classic, 160 gig models from the vehicle, which was parked on the street. It happened May 31 between midnight and 7 a.m.

Fog lights stolen

In a Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts case on the 4800 block of Mulford, between June 2nd at 8:30 p.m. and June 3rd at 7:50 a.m., someone removed two fog lights from a vehicle.


Thief smashed coin-operated machine to get coins

Someone tried to break open a laundry bag dispenser in the 4000 block of Oakton Street, between 7:00 a.m. and 9:20 p.m. June 2., in order to take the coins. The attempt was unsuccessful, police said.

Honda motorcycle stolen

On the 10000 block of Peach Parkway, between May 30th at 7:30 p.m. and May 31st at 6 p.m., someone removed a 2007 orange and black Honda CBR motorcycle. The motorcycle was chained to the parking lot guard rail.
Flower pot used as projectileIn a Criminal Damage to Property case in the 9000 block of Skokie Boulevard at 9:45 p.m. June 1, an offender threw a clay flower pot at the victim's front window, which caused the glass to shatter.

Car damaged in hotel parking lot

In a Criminal Damage to Property case at the Extended Stay Hotel in the 5200 block of Old Orchard Road, between June 2nd at 7:15 a.m. and June 3rd at 7:15 a.m.The victim reported that his 2007 BMW 650 was keyed overnight while parked in the lot.

Cleaning women clean out victim’s home

In a theft case in the 5000 block of Dobson,  between April 1st and May 30th,  the victim reported that the cleaning women removed a Verizon phone charger, Black & Decker iron, four gold rings, and a Google tablet from the residence.

Mongoose bicycle stolen

Theft on the 9500 block of Lowell Avenue, between May 31st at 10:00 p.m. and June 1st at 7:00 a.m.Reported: 06/01/13 The victim reported that her green and white Mongoose bicycle was removed from the front yard.

Illegal possession of alcohol by a minor

Officers responded to a noise complaint on the 7000 block of Laramie Avenue, at 11:45 p.m. May 31 and observed a minor in possession of alcohol and tobacco products. The minor was cited and turned over to his parents.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

During a traffic stop June 1 at 2:45 a.m. in the 8600 block of McCormick Blvd., officers detected alcohol on the offender's breath. The offender was arrested for driving under the influence.

During a traffic stop June 1 at 3:12 a.m. in the 4700 block of Washington Street, officers detected alcohol on the offender's breath and charged the offender with driving under the influence.

Arrests

Aaron Lang,  23, was charged with Possession Of Cannabis 30gm And Under, on the 4800 block of Howard St., Skokie, on May 31.

A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with Illegal Possession Of Alcohol By Minor, on the 7000 block of Laramie Ave. on June 1.

Andrew Pohl, 25, of Berwyn, was charged with Possession Of Cannabis 30gm And Under, on the 7900 block of Lamon Ave. on June 1.

Marie Richards of Skokie, 42, was arrested on charges of an In-state Warrant, on the 8600 block of St Louis Ave. on June 1.
