Skokie Car Dealer To Ride in Chicago's Gay Pride Parade

Three people from Evanston Subaru, which is located in Skokie, will be heading down to Broadway and Montrose in Chicago Sunday to take part in the Pride Parade, sometimes called the Gay Pride Parade.

"We've been part of the Gay Pride parade since 1996," said Rob Paddor, Evanston Subaru owner.

"I did it for a few years--now my son, Evan Paddor, has been doing it for the last five to seven years. We love passing out things like carabiners and candy."

People sometimes shoot squirt guns at them, all in fun, he said.

Along with Evan Paddor, staff member Ronnie Davis and customer Beth Brownstein will represent the Skokie business in the parade.

Rob Paddor feels it's beneficial for his business, and has paid off in gaining customers in the gay community.

"If you go into Andersonville (a Chicago neighborhood with many gay and lesbian residents)," he said, "most of the Subarus have my plate frames on them."
