Cars Burglarized and Damaged; Flashlight Shined Into Home's Window


The following information was taken from Skokie Police Department reports. 

Criminal Damage to Property

  • Criminal Damage to Property on the 5100 block of Sherwin Avenue, between September 6th at 5:00 p.m. and September 8th at 6:30 a.m.  Reported:  09/08/2013. An unknown person(s) pried open a fuel door on a Volvo.
  • Criminal Damage to Property on the 9100 block of Crawford Avenue, between August 23rd at 11:00 a.m. and September 8th at 9:22 p.m.  Reported:  09/08/2013. An unknown person(s) used brown and red spray paint to write the word “script” on the wall of the building.
  • Criminal Damage to Property on the 3400 block of Oakton Street, on September 8th between 4:20 p.m. and 5:23 p.m.  Reported:  09/08/2013. An unknown person(s) broke the window on the rear passenger side of the vehicle.

Disorderly Conduct

  • Disorderly Conduct on the 4300 block of Greenwood Avenue, on September 8th at 12:12 a.m.  Reported:  09/08/2013. An unknown person(s) shined a flashlight through the second story bedroom of her son.  It was reported that this is an ongoing problem.

  • Burglary from Motor Vehicle on the 9400 block of Tripp, between August 25th at 12:00 a.m. and September 8th at 1:44 a.m.  Reported:  09/08/2013. An unknown person(s) entered a 2006 Mazda and went through the glove box.  It is unknown at this time if anything is missing.
  • Burglary from Motor Vehicle on the 5000 block of Fitch Avenue, between September 7th at 11:30 p.m. and September 8th at 9:08 a.m.  Reported:  09/08/2013. An unknown person(s) entered two vehicles parked on the driveway.  It was reported that the vehicle may have been left unlocked.  Items were reported stolen from the glove box and center console.
  • Burglary from Motor Vehicle on the 5100 block of Coyle Avenue, between September 6th at 7:00 p.m. and September 7th at 6:45 a.m.  Reported:  09/08/2013. An unknown person(s) ransacked a 2003 Nissan and removed keys and beauty supplies.
