Chicago Great Clips Robbed Tuesday
Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at a Lincoln Park Great Clips. The incident is the second of its kind in an eight-day time span in the Chicagoland area. Skokie and Niles have seen similar robberies, too.

Chicago police were investigating a second hair salon robbery in an eight-day time frame Tuesday afternoon that occurred that morning in Lincoln Park.
The incident, which took place around 9:50 a.m. at Great Clips, 1005 W. Webster Ave., Chicago, involved a 200-plus pound Hispanic suspect clad in a red jacket and grey scarf who police estimate stands between 6 feet and 6 feet, 2 inches tall. Brandishing a handgun, he walked into the salon and demanded money, according to Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
"He then fled on foot," Zala said, adding that no injuries were reported in connection with the crime.

The offender got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police wouldn't confirm or deny the incident's potential connection to a Jan. 21 armed robbery at another Great Clips in the neighorhood at 1235 N. Clybourn Ave. In that incident, the offender was also described as wearing a red jacket, police said.
Someone committed similar robberies at the end of December, too. A man described as Hispanic, with a light complexion, between 30 and 35 years old and weighing around 160 pounds reportedly entered two salons on West Fullerton Avenue on Dec. 29 and 30. He placed a bag on the counter while demanding money and showed a handgun, police said.
