Featured Obituary:
Marian Conroy Haney, age 82, of Wilmette. Beloved wife of Paul M. Murphy; dearest stepmother of Colleen Murphy and the late Meaghan Murphy; loving sister of the late Annette (the late Clinton) Bargerstock; dear aunt of Patricia Bargerstock and Daniel (Cathy) Bargerstock; great aunt to Sarah Bargerstock and Matthew Bargerstock.
Marian was born and raised in Chicago, attended Marquette University, and received BS, MBA and JD degrees from Loyola University Chicago where she was Editor of the Loyola Law Review. After law school, she clerked for Chief Judge James Parsons of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. For most of her career, she concentrated on labor litigation at several Chicago law firms including Vedder Price and Mayer Brown. After retiring from Mayer Brown, she served as a full-time volunteer attorney for the Thomas More Society, a non-profit, national public interest law firm offering pro bono legal services. For over fifteen years Marian was a Minister of Care, at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Wilmette, where she took the sacrament to hospitals and those who were homebound. Her loving compassion was felt not only from those who received her visits but by her fellow ministers, who will miss her dearly. Although small in stature, Marian will be remembered as a brilliant, witty, and strong woman, and a loving friend.Read more via Donnellan Family Funeral Services »
