Featured Obituary:

Dorothy Anna Rosenbaum, née Seyfried, 94. Beloved wife of the late George; devoted mother of David, Julie, and the late Larry; cherished grandmother of Stephanie, Marty, Matt, Mara, Molly, and Abigail; dear sister of Miriam (Richard) Eichlin and the late Eleanor (late Wilson) Roth; loving aunt of Linda Roth, the late Laurie Eichlin, and many others; caring daughter of the late Clarence Seyfried and Beulah (nee Itterly); treasured granddaughter of the late Carrie Itterly. Dorothy was born in Bethlehem, PA and raised amongst the Pennsylvania Dutch community. She was raised as a Moravian, later converting to Judaism. She served as a ship nurse in the Coast Guard during WWII. She utilized her nursing skills during the polio epidemic. In 1965, she marched alongside Martin Luther King Jr. from Selma to Montgomery, AL on Bloody Sunday. Dorothy's pull towards seeing the beauty in life led her to found the North Shore Figurative Art League. She was also very involved in the Foreign Students Exchange Program at Northwestern University. Dorothy was beautiful, joyful, loving, and lived a full life using all of her God-given gifts.
