• Skokie Reports Third Straight Year With No Murders: 2025 Crime Stats (patch.com) — Skokie residents are closing out 2025 with encouraging crime news, as the village logged a 3 percent overall drop in reported incidents and its third consecutive year without a murder. While crimes against persons rose slightly, property crimes fell more than 8 percent and local trends generally mirrored broader declines seen in Cook County and statewide, according to Illinois State Police data.
