North Students Win OnWord Writing Awards

Niles North High School students Ysa Quiballo and Nina Artwell received the OnWord 2020 Writing Competition Award for their pieces submitted to the American Writers Museum. The contest was open to students who toured the Chicago museum during the 2019-2020 school year. They were tasked to respond to the prompt “My America is . . .” Each student received $1,000 and a membership to the American Writers Museum. In addition, they were recorded reading their pieces and were honored at the virtual OnWord 2020 benefit on September 1.
