SKOKIE, IL — The Skokie Park District Board of Commissioners re-elected its top officers this week in a pair of unanimous votes.

Susan Aberman, who has served on the board since 2001, was elected president. Mike Reid, who first became a park district commissioner in 2005, was elected vice-president.

Both served in the same roles since April 2021. The prior year, Reid served as president and the board's vice-president was former Commissioner Khem Khoeun, now a Skokie village trustee.

A copy of the borrowing ordinance was not immediately available after the meeting.

Despite maintaining a YouTube video channel and a website, the Skokie Park District does not publicly post the agenda packets provided to its commissioners before meetings — and it never publicly posts recordings of its meetings.

"This has always been the policy," Michelle Tuft, executive director, board secretary, Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act officer, told Patch via email. "We only recorded meetings when they were held remotely (via Zoom) during the pandemic as required."
