25-Year-Old Ejected From Car, Dies In Early Morning Crash On I-55

Illinois State Police said no other vehicles were involved in the 3:39 a.m. crash, which also left a 23-year-old passenger with injuries.

SOUTH SIDE, IL —A 25-year-old woman died in a traffic crash on Interstate 55 early Monday morning, according to Illinois State Police.

Initial reports indicated the 25-year-old, later identified as Huda Alghazali, was driving a Honda CRV southbound on the interstate at around 3:39 a.m. When she passed Cicero Avenue, police said the young woman lost control of the car, which veered off the road and flipped over the center median.

The woman was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at a local hospital. A 23-year-old passenger was also taken to a local hospital where police said he had non-life-threatening injuries.
