CPD Officer Dragged By Car During Traffic Stop In Englewood: Cops
Officials said the officer was taken to the hospital and listed in good condition after being pinned between the car and a viaduct Friday.

SOUTH SIDE, IL — A Chicago police officer was taken to the hospital after being dragged by a moving car Friday night on the South Side, police said.
Officers were conducting a traffic stop in the Englewood neighborhood at around 7 p.m. when the driver of the vehicle reversed his car, dragging the officer with him, according to officials.
A spokesperson for the Chicago Police Department said the driver eventually pinned the officer between his Impala and a viaduct. The officer discharged his weapon but did not hit anyone, spokeswoman Michelle Tannehill told Patch.

The incident occurred in the 100 block of 63rd Street near South State Street. The officer was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he is listed in good condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
Tannehill said the driver of the Impala fled the scene and no one is in custody as of Friday night.
