'Operation Angel' Prostitution Sting Results in 17 Arrests, 12 Vehicle Impounds

"Operation Angel" targeted the area near 51st and Cicero due to the high number of calls received related to prostitution, CPD says.

CHICAGO — A team of 8th District Chicago tactical officers and vice unit conducted “Operation Angel” in an area near 51st Street and Cicero Avenue which was identified by the high number of calls related to prostitution.

Police issued twelve administrative violations to males, as well as five administrative violations to females for solicitation. Twelve vehicles were impounded.

A court date has been set for 10:30 a.m. Oct. 10, in room 102, 402 W. Superior St.

Police say they believe Operation Angel significantly disrupted solicitation in the area. Community members are reminded to call 911 whenever they witness criminal acts.
