1 Dead In Fiery Crash After Police Chase In Kane County
The collision happened in the 50W700 block of Ramm Road near Maple Park on Tuesday night.
KANE COUNTY, IL — A police pursuit ended in a deadly crash Tuesday night in Kane County.
The incident was first reported at 10:30 p.m. when a Kane County Sheriff's Office deputy clocked a black Dodge Durango heading west at 92 mph on Route 64 in the area of IC trail Road near Maple Park. The car refused to pull over, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
The vehicle sped away and reached speeds of up to 110 mph, police said.

The deputy lost sight of the vehicle as it turned north on West Countyline Road. The officer found the vehicle a short time later after it crashed into a tree on the west side of the road at a curve in the 50W700 block of Ramm Road.
The car was fully engulfed in flames, and the deputy was unable to get the driver out of the car, police said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are working to identify the driver and are using dental records to confirm his ID, according to a news release.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force.
