2017 Quality Report Details Sources, Contents of St. Charles Drinking Water

City officials released​ the 2017 Annual Water Quality Report on Monday.

ST. CHARLES, IL – Drink up, residents: St. Charles water quality meets or exceeds all federal standards, according to a newly released report.

City officials made available Monday the 2017 Annual Water Quality Report, which details everything from where residents' water comes from to how it compares to standards set by regulatory agencies; namely, those from the Environmental Protection Agency. It also lists the levels of all the regulated constituents, if any, that were detected in the water during 2016 or the last sampling event.

“The city of St. Charles is committed to providing safe and clean drinking water to our residents, and we are always monitoring water quality,” Tim Wilson, environmental services division manager, said in a news release. “This report shows all the standards that we have to meet, and provides useful information to our water customers.”

Residents can view the report online. Those wanting physical copies can get them at the St. Charles Municipal Building, 2 E. Main St., or Public Works, 1405 S. 7th Ave. Residents can also expect to receive a notice about the report in their most recent water bills.
