'Be You' Rock Hunt Returns With More Rocks To Find, Prizes

The rock hunt will begin on Aug. 9 in downtown St. Charles.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles Business Alliance’s “Be You” Rock Hunt will take place on August 9 starting at 9 a.m.

During the event, participants will be able to win a bag of gifts from local businesses valued at more than $30 by finding a painted “Be You” rock hidden in downtown St. Charles between 5th Street and 5th Avenue, according to a news release from the St. Charles Business Alliance.

This year, the number of rocks has increased from ten to twenty to give individuals additional opportunities to locate one.

Participants who have found one of the rocks will be able to redeem it at the St. Charles Municipal Building, 2 E. Main St., St. Charles, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. The individual who is first to return a rock to the St. Charles Municipal Building will receive a grand prize valued at over $150.

The painted “Be You” rocks can be found anywhere outside in downtown St. Charles.

The event will continue until all the rocks are located. Updates on when the hunt concludes, or the status of the number of remaining rocks can be found on the St. CharlesBusiness Alliance’s Facebook and Instagram @stcalliance.

Only one rock may be submitted per person.

St. Charles Business Alliance Executive Director, Jenna Sawicki, encourages everyone to come out to participate in this annual event.

“We are so excited to see the growth of the “Be You” Rock Hunt with the addition of even more rocks that will be hiding throughout downtown,” Sawicki said. “Our hope is that everyone has a wonderful time participating in this end-of-summer celebration and has the chance to stop by some of the incredible local businesses we have in St. Charles.”
