CARY, IL — The polls have closed in McHenry County and votes are being tallied for the Cary mayoral race.
Mayor Mark Kownick was challenged by Cary Dairy owner, Randy Scott. Voters in McHenry County headed to the polls Tuesday to make their picks in this year's local election, which featured village board, township board, school board and mayoral races.

- Mark Kownick: 625 votes (64.83%)
- Randy Scott: 339 (35.17%)
All results tallied on election night are unofficial. Official results are not tallied until all provisional and vote-by-mail ballots are in and counted, and then certified, usually 14 days after Election Day.
