City Council Approves Street, Sidewalk Closures For Outdoor Dining

ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles City Council voted in favor of closing a portion of Walnut Avenue between Riverside and Second avenues to allow for outdoor dining the summer.

The Kane County Chronicle is reporting the city council OK'd the measure in a 5-4 vote during last week's city council meeting. The city council also voted in favor of allowing outdoor dining for Flagship on the Fox and Arcada Theatre.

The decision to close Walnut Avenue drew criticism from residents in St. Charles in recent weeks, with several stopping out at recent city council meetings to voice their concern about the closure.
