Community Guest Of Honor Named For Electric Christmas Parade
The parade will be held on Nov. 29 in St. Charles.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The community guest of honor has been announced for this year's Electric Christmas Parade.
Deborah Foote, who has resided in St. Charles for 60 years and was instrumental in starting the St. Charles Electric Christmas Parade, has been named a this year's guest of honor. She first started working with the Christmas parade in 1995 when it was held on the first Sunday of December during the day, according to a news release from the St. Charles Business Alliance.
This year's parade, which is in its 25th year, will take place in downtown St. Charles starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The parade will travel down Main Street starting at 4th Street and conclude at 6th Avenue, according to a news release from the St. Charles Business Alliance.

“I have always admired the Disney Electric Light Parade, and the idea came to me that we needed to move the parade to the evening – full of lights and sounds of the holiday," Foote said.
After she initially started working with the parade, Foote continued to work alongside the Downtown St. Charles Partnership for 5 years as chairman of the Electric Christmas Parade.

“I couldn’t be more pleased and proud that this parade has become a family tradition for so many,” Foote continues. “Knowing that I had a part in it makes me smile every year.”
