Coronavirus In Kane County: 7 Deaths Include Elgin Residents

As of March 31, 128 people are confirmed to have the coronavirus in Kane County, according to health officials.

KANE COUNTY, IL — According to health officials, as of Tuesday seven people have died from the coronavirus in Kane County, and 128 people are confirmed to have the coronavirus.

The Kane County Coroner's office said in a Monday Facebook post that "out of respect for the deceased and their families, only the age, gender, town of residence and date of death are provided."

  • 97-year-old male, Aurora, March 23
  • 91-year-old male, Elgin, March 27
  • 71-year-old male, Elgin, March 25
  • 74-year-old male, Elgin, March 26
  • 40-year-old male, South Elgin, March 27
  • 96-year-old male, Aurora, March 27
  • 88-year-old male, Huntley, March 30

The coroner's office reminds residents to please continue to follow social distancing recommendations provided by the CDC, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Kane County Health Department.

State and Kane County health officials announced Tuesday they're calling on medical professionals to step up to help aid in the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus, according to a Kane County Health Department news release.
