Darien Man Accused Of Child Pornography Possession Out On Bond

Authorities found content linking the man to SD cards containing child pornography recently found at a local business, according to police.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A Darien man faces several counts of felony possession of child pornography after images were found on a digital card on the floor of a local business, police said.

According to a news release from the St. Charles Police Department, 58-year-old Richard A. Kusnierz, of the 100 block of Janet Avenue in Darien, was arrested Monday on multiple felony charges of possession of child pornography.

Officers were called Nov. 25 to a business in the 3800 block of Ohio Avenue on a report that child pornography was discovered on an SD card (digital storage device) found on the floor inside the business, according to the news release.

Police officers and detectives began an investigation to gather information related to the owner of the SD card as well as a group of other SD cards discovered with it, police said.

Authorities found content linking Kusnierz to the cards, police said, and he was arrested Monday.

Kusnierz's bail was set at $35,000, police reported.

According to the Kane County Sheriff's Office, he was released on bond Tuesday afternoon and his court date is currently pending in Kane County.
