Dryer Fire Leaves Two Apartment Units Uninhabitable In St. Charles: Fire Officials
The blaze was reported in the dryer of an apartment in the 1300 block of West Main Street at about 8:50 a.m. Thursday.
ST. CHARLES, IL — Two apartment units are uninhabitable following a dryer fire Thursday morning in St. Charles.
The blaze was reported in the dryer of an apartment in the 1300 block of West Main Street at about 8:50 a.m. Thursday, according to the news release from the St. Charles Fire Department.
Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, which caused an estimated $60,000 in damage. The blaze caused damage to the apartment unit where the fire started and also the unit below the apartment and both are uninhabitable at this time.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
