EDCCW is a member of the Rockford Diocesan Council of Catholic Women with its purpose to promote friendships and better understanding among the women of the Elgin Deanery. The EDCCW is composed of the nine parishes within the Elgin Deanery in Carpentersville, Elgin, Gilberts, St. Charles, and West Dundee. All women in these parishes are welcomed and encouraged to join the EDCCW, which meets six times a year. Its mission is to focus on projects to fulfill community needs.

The types of projects members are involved with include: providing Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) gifts to all new candidates into the Catholic faith at all nine parishes; school supplies; toiletries to the women shelters; and hosting a “Sister’s Luncheon” for current and retired religious sisters.
