Executive Director of St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau Steps Down
Funding cuts prompt Amy Egolf to head to the private sector.

After a decade of leadership at the Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau, Executive Director Amy Egolf has left for a job in the private sector. Last Thursday was her final day on the job. She is now director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Chicago/Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale.
Reports Charles Menchaca for the Kane County Chronicle:
Egolf said she made the decision to leave the nonprofit bureau in part because of the state’s fiscal challenges. The bureau faced funding cuts this year from the Illinois Office of Tourism and the city of St. Charles, which reduced funding by 10 percent this year for various groups based in the city.
